New Haven County's brgrKo, located in Hamden at 3000 Whitney Ave., announced on Thursday, Jan. 25 that it would be closing in the coming weeks, according to an Instagram post from the owners.

The owners wrote that they decided they wanted to focus on their other venture, Mikro Depot, also located in Hamden at 0 Depot Ave.

"After almost 13 years in this space, it will be a difficult transition, but both my wife and I feel it is time to downsize and focus on Mikro Depot," the owner's statement on social media read.

They continued, "We want to thank all the employees and amazing guests who have been there through good times and difficult times. We will be wrapping up in the next few weeks and hope you all get a chance to stop by, share a drink, memory, or meal as we end an amazing run."

The eatery is known for serving wings, salads, tacos, and plenty of burgers served with sub-cut fries.

Although brgrKo will be no more, an "unaffiliated group" will be taking over the location and "continuing the legacy," the owners said.

The owner's other business, Mikro Depot, is a gastropub that serves a variety of craft beers, small plates, and "heartier fare," according to its website.
